Pavilion Hopping Without the Pain
Folklorama is one of the best parts of summer in Winnipeg. But hitting three pavilions in one night means a lot of walking and a lot of standing in line on concrete.
The Kinetic Chain
You might feel the pain in your feet, but the problem might be in your pelvis. This is the Kinetic Chain.
If your pelvis is rotated, one leg functionally becomes "shorter" than the other.
This forces you to put more weight on one foot.
The arch of that foot collapses (pronates), twisting the knee and hip.
Check Your Foundation
If you find that your low back or knees ache after just 20 minutes of standing, it is a sign your foundation is off. At Vera Chiropractic, we check the alignment of your hips and spine to ensure your weight is distributed evenly. When you are balanced, you can stand longer, walk further, and enjoy that extra potato pancake without the pain.
